Leroy Kenneth Brooks, son of Clarence and Mary Brooks was one of 9 children born and raised in Corcoran, Kings, CA.
After graduating from Corcoran High School Roy, as he was known to family and friends, was in the US Army, 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Division, Company I, in Korea, receiving two purple hearts along with many other awards of honor.

Roy worked in construction his entire life after his military duty, eventually becoming lead carpenter with the Madera County Road Dept. Roy had moved from Los Banos to Madera with his his bride Pat where they spent their 41 years of marriage.

Roy was an active member of St Joachim Catholic Church and the Italian Catholic Federation council. He was also a member of the V.F.W. Post 1981, in addition to the Carpenters Union of Merced County, CA.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on June 7 at St Joachim Catholic Church in Madera with full Veterans Honors by V.F.W. Post 1981 following at Calvary Cemetery.
