Benedict, Wayne E. of Andover, MN went to meet his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 24, 2012 after suffering heart failure.

His parents, Peter & Hattie Benedict and two sisters, Norma and Joyce, preceded him in death.

He graduated from Faribault High School in 1942 and served 3 years in the US Navy on board the Pamanset in the Western Pacific supporting the 3rd fleet until the end of WWII. He graduated from Northwestern Schools (Minneapolis) in 1955 and then attended Western Baptist Seminary (Portland, OR) graduating in 1963 with a Master of Divinity.

He pastored churches in Washington State until 1972 when he returned to Minnesota to work at Northwestern College as half-time Dean of Students and Bible Teacher, and eventually associate professor of Bible and Greek.

In addition to faculty duties he coached wrestling and worked as Director of Housing and Security. Above all, the most important thing in his life was his passion for preaching and teaching the gospel.
