Funeral services for Mrs Rosamond Brooks were held Wednesday, 2 p.m. at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church with Rev Gottlieb Schmitt officiating. Burial was at Spring Creek Cemetery with the Hazen-Jaeger funeral home in charge. Mrs Brooks, a lifetime resident of Reardan, died March 15 in a Spokane hospital, following an illness of several months. She was born at Reardan March 10, 1898, to the late Mr and Mrs Howard E Bell. On Nov 18, 1914, she married Alva E Brooks, who survives at the home. They farmed north of Reardan where they made their home until the time of her death. Mrs Brooks was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran church, and charter member of Spring Creek Grange. Survivors besides her widow are two daughters, Mrs Richard A (Lorraine) Paul, Reardan; Mrs Edward F (Marjorie) Harris, Spokane. Three grandchildren, several nieces and nephews (also survive). The pass bearers were Berne Barnard, Vernon Carstens, Larry Landreth, Bill Paul, Jack Mann and Bob Zwainz. (Davenport Times: 5-21-1963)
