He married Mabel Caspers on Oct. 29, 1936. They moved to their farm in Stoneham Township. Mabel died in 1966. He farmed until 1982, when he moved to Community Haus in Clara City. He moved to the Clara City Care Center in 2005. He was preceded in death by his wife; one great-grandson; ten siblings and four infant siblings.
