The death of Mrs. Ira Baker of Buchanan occurred Sunday morning at the city hospital, where she has been for about a week. Mrs. Baker has been suffering from a complication of troubles, and has been ill most of the time for the last two months, having been at the hospital and having returned home prior to her returning to the hospital the last time.
She was a patient sufferer, and her loss is deeply felt by her husband and two girls. She was the wife of the foreman of the Buchanan farms. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. from the Catholic church in Jamestown and burial in the Catholic cemetery. Deceased was 26 years of age and was a daughter of Patrick Burke of this city.
The funeral of Mrs. Ira Baker, daughter of Patrick and Jane Burke, was held at the Catholic church today and was largely attended. Mrs. Burke was born at Columbus, Wis., 26 years ago in April. She came to Jamestown, N. D. with her parents in 1882, and has resided in the county ever since, marrying Ira L. Baker in 1896. She was a most charitable woman and lovable wife and mother, and her loss will be greatly regretted by her friends and neighbors. Her little girl of two years was buried in September, and her brother, Patrick, killed on duty in the Philippines was buried in November last. Edwin Burke, brother of the deceased, arrived from Montana yesterday to attend the funeral, and Mrs. Ellen Cahill, a sister, from New Rockford.
