Clara Spillers Moore, 97, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2012. She was born in Butler, GA on June 7, 1914.

Clara was a teacher in the Georgia public school system until her retirement in 1977. She received her teaching degree from Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville, GA, and furthered her education at Tift College in Forsyth, GA, Mercer University and Wesleyan College, both in Macon, GA.

After retiring, she moved to Satellite Beach, FL to be near her daughters. She enjoyed many years there, hosted family gatherings and spent enjoyable hours gardening. Ceramics and shell art were also favorite hobbies.

Clara was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin Franklin Moore, Jr. and grandchildren Michelle and Stephen.

She is survived by son Ben Moore of Barnesville, GA; daughters, Mary Ann Sullins of Satellite Beach and Sue Risi of Viera, FL.

She will be interred beside her husband in the family cemetery at Turner's Chapel, Butler, GA. No local services are planned.
