Fourteen children born to Ephraim and Susana (House) TANNER. Ephraim TANNER was born in Virginia. He came to what is now Boone County in 1805, and settled near where Florence is now located, on the property now owned by Herman Walker and others, near Florence. Susanna, his wife, was also a native of Virginia. Both the TANNERs and Houses were originally from Germany. Ephraim TANNER was a farmer by occupation, but a blacksmith by trade. Both he and his wife died in Boone County.
