Francis Marion Wanamaker Dies - Last Surviving Brother of Merchant Prince of Philadelphia is Claimed By Death - Was Born in Ft. Wayne - Philadelphia, PA., Aug 23--
Francis Marion Wanamaker, a native of Ft. Wayne, Ind., the youngest and only surviving brother of John Wanamaker, the merchant prince, died here this morning. Death was due to Bright's disease, superinduced bya paralytic stroke, which he sustained in January, 1912. Mr. Wanamaker was in the sixty-seventh year of his age.

He was born in Ft. Wayne, Ind., February 17, 1850, and came to this city when a boy. After graduating from the high school he went into business with his brother, John Wanamaker. A few years later he entered the employ of B. M. Wanamaker and Company, merchant tailors 818 Chestnut Street.

After learning this business, he became connected with the firm of Wanamaker & Brown, Sixth and Market Streets. Mr. Wanamaker was at the latter establishment when stricken with paralysis, more than four years ago. Following his collapse he was taken home. His son,Dr. John Wanamaker, third, who was one of the physicians who attended him at the time, pronounced his condition critical, but he gradually improved. Mr. Wanamaker retired from business two years ago.

His widow, two sons, and a daughter, all of this city, survive. The funeral will be held Friday morning from his residence, 1808 Wallace Street.
