My Grandmother Lillian was born March 17,1922. She was the second twin born. She was so tiny she fit in a shoebox. When she was born they placed her in the closet because they didn't think she would survive. My Great great Grandmother took my Grandma from the closet made her a bed in a shoebox and placed her in the oven to keep her warm. My Great great Grandmother named her Lillian. My Grandmother had scarlet fever and whopping cough as a baby. No one knew the extent of the damage this caused her. My Grandmother was left deaf from these illnesses. She had very limited hearing. My grandmother taught her self to read lips at a very young age. My Grandmas twin was my Great Uncle Art . He later changed his last name to Franz it was after his Mothers last name. My grandmother was married twice in her lifetime. Her first husband was Edward Conrad Bridgman. They had 4 children. Namely Edward Jr. He passed away as a baby. Carole Ann. Kelly Lee. Anna Lee. Her first Husband died while moving a couch into the V.A. Hospital. He had heart problems when he died at the young age of 30 years. Later grandma married again . She married the father of the kids she babysat for. Grandma married Neal Perry Johnson. Where grandma was a twin grandpa was a triplet. Between them they had 6 children from there previous marriages. My grandmother enjoyed her family and gardening as well as arts and crafts she made beautiful quilts she also enjoyed canning. I think her favorite pastime was playing a card game called 31. She would clean our clocks on a regular bases. Even when she was dieing she cleaned my clock. My grandmother also taught me many recipes from her childhood.
