HOULTON - Pansy A. Brown, 91, died May 30, 2005, at her daughter's residence in Monticello. She was born July 9, 1913, at Smyrna Mills, the daughter of Frederick S. and Lillian P. (Sanford) Adams. Pansy graduated from Ricker Classical Institute, Class of 1931, Aroostook State School and Farmington State Normal School. She taught school in Hodgdon, Ludlow and East Hodgdon for 31 years. She was a member of Saint Mary of the Visitation Church, the Maine and New England Teachers Associations and the Maine Retired Teachers Association.

Pansy is survived by her daughter, Sharon Delong and her husband, Eugene, of Monticello; two grandchildren, Lezli Delong-Leyva and her husband, Manuel, of LA Union, N.M., Eugene Delong Jr. of Germany; four great-grand-children, Laurence, Madison and Liam Leyva, Lee E. Delong II; one brother, Vinal Adams of Houlton; brothers-in-law, Richard Brown of Lubec, Michael Brown of Houlton; sisters-in-law, Catherine Bell of Houlton, Mary Moreshead of Lubec; special nephew and nieces, Harold and Marilyn Adams, Evelyn Putnam; several other nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; four sisters, Madelyn Lloy, Vivian Putnam, Velma Adams, and Eldee Adams; and her granddaughter, Lauri Jones.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday at Saint Mary of the Visitation Church with the Rev. Eddy Morin and Deacon Al Burleigh celebrants. Interment will be in the Foster Cemetery. (Bangor Daily News 6/1/2005)
