Arthur "Arthuree" Baldwin was a mixed blood Chickasaw who was born July 16, 1917 in McAlester, Pittsburg County, Oklahoma, son of Lee Perry Baldwin (1883-1956) and Susanna Beaman (1886-1937). Arthuree had two brothers and two sisters.

The 1920 Federal Census for Blocker, Pittsburg County, Oklahoma shows Arthuree Baldwin, age 2, born in Oklahoma; living with his father, Lee P. Baldwin, a mixed blood Chickasaw, a farmer, age 36, born in Oklahoma; and his mother, Susie, age 34, born in Texas. Also living in the household were Arthur's siblings: Lulu M. Baldwin, age 8; Royce H. Baldwin, age 6; Flora L. Baldwin, age 5; and Archie R. Baldwin, age 0; all born in Oklahoma. Also living in the household was a servant, Robert Watkins, age 28, born in Arkansas.

Arthuree enlisted in the U.S. Army on 19 August 1942 during World War II and rose to the rank of Tech Sergeant.

He died at age 72 on September 28, 1989 in Wilburton, Latimer County, Oklahoma, and was buried in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Antlers, Pushmataha County, Oklahoma.
