Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Norman Agnew and Annie Bishop Waldrop. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart.
He was formerly employed with Pet Dairy and later retired as manager of Auto Brokers.
Mr. Waldrop was a lifelong member of Bethel United Methodist Church and the Heritage Bible Class and served as church treasurer.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 52 years, Gladys Sizemore Waldrop.
Surviving are two daughters and three granddaughters.
