CLARE--Earl Allen Owens, 75, of Clare, died Sunday, March 11, at Central Michigan Community Michigan after an illness of six weeks.

Mr. Owens was born April 19, 1897, in Gilmore Township of Isabella County, the son of Hugh and Alma (Elliott) Owens.

He married Myrtle Myers March 31, 1918, in the Clare Congregational Church. Mr. Owens was engaged in farming and had been a Clare resident his entire life.

He attended First Baptist Church in Clare and was a member of Five Lakes Farm Bureau.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Owens is survived by four daughters, Mrs. William Ingram of Lyons, Mrs. Lloyd Woods of Wyandotte, Mrs. Wayne Bennett of Clare, and Mrs. Dave Ferguson of Farwell; 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. George Runyon of Lansing, Mrs. George Leasure of Blanchard, and Miss Blanch Owens of Clare; and four brothers, Fred Thurl, and Don Owens of Clare and Archie Owens of Sanford.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 14, at 2 p.m., in the First Baptist Church of Clare with the Rev. Donald Herweyer and the Rev. Donald Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Cherry Grove Cemetery.

Arrangements were handled by Stephenson-Doherty Funeral Home.
