Adam B. Miller Of Glenville Dies At 74


Glenville – Adam B. Miller, husband of the late Lydia Sterner Miller, this place, died at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday at the Hanover General Hospital, where he had been a patient for the past five days. Death was due to a complication of diseases. He was 74 years old.

He was a son of the late Edward W. and Anna J. Bahn Miller. Mr. Miller was a member of the Reformed congregation of Stone Church.

The following brothers and sisters survive: John Miller, York RD; Tobias Miller, here; George Miller, Glen Rock; Miss Lydia Miller, Glen Rock RD; Mrs. Elsie Bortner, this place; Noah Miller, Glen Rock RD; Henry and Frank Miller, both of here, and Rufus Miller, Loganville.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Hartenstein Funeral Chapel, New Freedom, with concluding obsequies at Stone Church. Rev. Dr. Paul Yoder, pastor of the Jefferson Reformed charge, will officiate. Interment will be in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Adam B. Miller was born October 28, 1872, and died in the Hanover Hospital December 31, 1946, aged 74 years, 2 months, and 3 days.

Mr. Miller had been a patient sufferer for many months of a disease which death only could relieve.

Mr. Miller had been baptized by the Rev. Jacob D. Zehring, November 18, 1872. In due time he became a member of St. Jacob's (Stone) Reformed Church and remained a faithful member to the day of his death.

His wife preceded him in death ten years ago, and for a number of years he made his home with his brother, Frank B. Miller, in Glenville, Pa.

The funeral services were held on Friday afternoon, January 3, 1947, from the Hartenstein Funeral Home, New Freedom, Pa., with the concluding services and burial at the Stone Church. The funeral text was Rom. 8:18.

To his brothers and sisters we extend our sincere sympathies in the loss of their brother.
