Born October 19, 1940 in Green River, Wyoming to Allen N. and Leona Barkdull Bennett. Later moved to Granger, Utah, joined the US Army in 1958 and served in Korea. After coming home, he worked in construction and later owned his own company, Bennett Construction.
Marv loved raising and riding horses. He was one of the last true cowboys. He was also a very creative person. After retiring, he had the time to tinker in his shop, making the most beautiful wood furniture which sold throughout the western states.
Marvin married Mary Lou Lopez and had four children; later divorced. Married his sweetheart, Marilyn Anderson Allred. They enjoyed traveling and just spending time together.
He is survived by his sweetheart, Marilyn; daughters, Inez (Mike) Dawson, Tammy (Mike) Valdez, Judy (Brian) Hansen; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Bryan (Lisa) Allred, Doreen (Kelly) Trujillo, Janeal Allred, Ronnie (Rachel) Allred; eight step-grand children; three step-great-grand children; brothers, Russell, Joe (Lynda), Carl, Jay (Nancy); sisters, Sharon (Neldon), Joyce (Bob) and Carla. Preceded in death by son, Don; parents; two sisters; one brother.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, 12:00 Noon at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where a viewing will be held Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates. Online condolences may be left at www.legacy.com
