Married Moses McElveen on February 17, 1813, Marion County, Mississippi. He was born about 1787, in South Carolina, died about 1853, in Mississippi. Believed that she remarried Leonard Varnado (buried at Lewis Cemetery, Pike County, MS) after Moses died. Moses is believed to be buried in the Daniel McDaniel Cemetery. She may be buried there as well. No markers for them in the cemetery. Settled in Pike County, Mississippi area in 1811 from South Carolina via Georgia. Moses with his brother John came to Mississippi with Moses' wife Elizabeth, her brother Reubin Hall and others. In the household of Moses McElveen, 1850 census, Amite County, Mississippi, are Reuben H. Rice, born 1840, Mississippi and Landy V. Rice, born 1842, Louisiana. These two are possibly grandchildren of Moses and Elizabeth. There is a Reubin Hall Rice, cpl. (1840-1913), Company L, 4 bn. Inf. CSA during the Civil War. 1870 census shows E Varnado living with Elizabeth's daughter Margaret, widow of James Thomas Lea, and family.

3. Berthenia “Barthany” McElveen, born December 22, 1819, died May 20, 1898, married Joshua Jackson Spears January 12, 1843, buried in Line Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana. Note: Pop star Britney Spears is descended from them.
4. Moses McElveen, born about 1822, married Ann in 1845
5. Margaret Ann McElveen, born January 21, 1823, in Mississippi, died February 8, 1898, Line Creek, Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, married James Thomas Lea January 21, 1845
6. Mary Ione McElveen, born December 5, 1827, died January 26, 1900, married Simpson Raborn in 1860
7. Jackson William McElveen, born February 22, 1832, Marion County, Mississippi, died October 17, 1913, married Elizabeth Ann Dixon August 8, 1853.
