Virginia Gray Baldwin
Virginia Gray Baldwin, 90, of Franklin, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2012.

Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Javan Gray and May Stiles Gray. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Gus George Baldwin; sister, Margie Davis; and two brothers, Elam and Major Fred Gray.

Virginia attended Piedmont College and was a school teacher before the birth of her children. She was an outstanding mother and an accomplished homemaker. She was an active member of First Baptist Church and member of the Electa Sunday School Class and the Hylda Shepherd Circle.

She is survived by four children, Elaine Bradley and husband David of Franklin, Dana Baldwin of Hillsboro, NC, Genevieve Stanfield and husband Randy of Powell, TN, and Julia Schiebel and husband Alfonso of Marietta, GA; a sister, Lucy Crawford of Asheville; four grandchildren, Gwen Bradley, Jessica Williams and husband Daniel, USAF Captain, Russell Stanfield and Bradford Schiebel; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 21 in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home, with Dr. Robert Brown officiating. Burial was in Rush Cemetery. The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers were Daniel Williams, David Gray, Howard Davis, Randy Stanfield, Alfonso Schiebel and Bradford Schiebel.
