BERNICE "BUNNY" LINDSEY
October 28, 1924 ~ June 23, 2020

Mary Bernice “Bunny” Lindsey was born on October 28, 1924 in Port Arthur, Texas, the daughter of Perry Collum and Johnnie (Cooksey) Collum.

Bernice married the love of her life Walter Argus “Speck” Lindsey in DeQueen, AR on September,2 1950. She had lived in the Soper Community since 1931 and was a 1943 graduate of Soper High School.

Speck preceded Bunny in death along with her parents and brother J.W. Collum and sister Awleen Lovell.

Bernice always wanted to help others and was continually working to assist wherever she was needed. She loved to cook, planning meals and buying groceries. Bernice was baking pies for the Soper Café until after her 93rd birthday.

She could always be depended on to attend or help organize the Soper Homecoming and in 2018 she was named the Golden Age Princess of the Homecoming.

Bernice retired from the United States Postal Service where she served as the Soper Postmaster and clerk for 30 years. She was a member of the Soper Methodist Church. Bernice was also an Eastern Star member along with the Soper Literary Club.

Above all that, Bernice enjoyed and loved in life, her family came first. She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Bernice is survived by her son, Argus Lindsey and wife Kelly, of Soper, OK; daughter, Linda Williams and husband Morris, of Hugo, OK;

Grandchildren, Cristin Belvin, Kyle Buchanan and wife Kayla, Chase Buchanan and wife BreAnne, Jackie Robinson and husband Cory, Jordan Mack and husband Clay, Damon Williams and wife Amber, Bradley Hutson and wife Sheryl; twenty five great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
