LaFAYETTE -- Mr. Melton Sanders, 92, of LaFayette died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004 at LaFayette Nursing Home in LaFayette.
Funeral services are scheduled Monday, Dec. 13 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Yancey Sanders and the Rev. Steve Powell officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Christian Church Cemetery.
He is survived by four sons, Melton (Dee) Sanders, Vinson (Martha) Sanders, Jasper (Thelma) Sanders and Donnie (Maxine) Sanders, all of LaFayette; one sister, Trumer Carter of LaFayette; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Sanders was born April 4, 1912 in Chambers County. He was retired from the logging business. Mr. Sanders was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held Monday, Dec. 13 from noon until service time at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
