A native of Madison County, Aaron was the son of the late Fred Hazel Goforth and Edith Lunsford Dill. He was a huge fan and promoter of southern gospel music and never met a stranger. He was a private pilot and an avid hunter and fisherman. Aaron had a great love of the outdoors which drew him to Alaska where he spent 20 years. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, Aaron was preceded in death by a son, Jeremy; sister, Carolyn Goforth and a brother, Macky Goforth.
Surviving are his wife, Brenda Goforth; children, Philip and his wife, Kelly of Wasilla, Alaska, Scott of Etowah and Cindy of Willow, Alaska; grandsons, Noah and Mason; granddaughters, Elizabeth and Rachel; sisters, Pat Goforth of Marshall and Sheila Crooke and her husband, Bart of Candler; brother, Bill Goforth and his wife, Judy of Asheville; two sisters-in-law, Jeanette Pollard and Joyce Smith both of Lake City, FL and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was held at 2pm, Tuesday, April 3, 2007 in the chapel of Madison Funeral Home. The Rev. Ronnie Owens officiated. Burial followed in Dry Pond Cemetery. Nephews served as pallbearers.
The family received friends from 7-9pm, Monday at Madison Funeral Home.
