Joseph was a parishioner of Holy Family Parish, Memphis.
He was employed by General Motors Corporation Research Labs for 32 years until his retirement in 1998.
He was a 19-year Memphis School Board member, charter member of All Saints Knights of Columbus Council #10501 and a 4th Degree member of Assembly #480, Richmond.
