John W. Clements, 73, Kirklin died at 7:24 a.m. December 7, l990 at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.
Mr. Clements retired from the U. S. Post Office, Kirklin in 1982 after 25 years. He also retired from farming in 1982. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army World War II and a 1935 Kirklin High School Graduate. He was a member and past commander of the American Legion Post 310 in Kirklin. He was a member of the Bogantown Christian Chapel. He was a past Master of the Kirklin Masonic Lodge and a past worthy Patron of the Kirklin order of the Eastern Star.
Mr. Clements was born September 7, 1917 in Kirklin to Robert F and Sophronia Gipson Clements. He married Dorotha Solari in 1946, and she died in 1981. He married Alta M. Dearinger Stowers in 1982 and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, John Wayne Clements of Tipton and Mark Allen Clements of Kirklin; a daughter, Alice Jean Robbins of Frankfort and six grandchildren. Two grandchildren; two sisters and six brothers preceded him in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Kercheval Funeral Home, Sheridan, with Rev. Alvin Beason and Rev. Forrest Zollman officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Kirklin. Friends may call 3-7 p.m. tomorrow. A Masonic memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home.
