8th Duke of Marlborough. He was the son of John Winston Spencer-Churchill, 7th Duke of Marlborough and Lady Frances Anne Emily Vane. He married, firstly, Lady Albertha Frances Anne Hamilton, daughter of James Hamilton, 1st Duke of Abercorn and Lady Louisa Jane Russell, on 8 November 1869 at Westminster Palace, London. He married, secondly, Lillian Warren Price, daughter of Commodore Cicero Price, on 29 June 1888 at City Hall, New York City, New York, U.S.A., in a civil marriage, with the ceremony officiated by the Mayor of New York City.
