James Alexander Allan, 74, a resident of Harrison Township for the past 40 years, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, in his home. He was born June 2, 1929, in Aberdeen, Scotland.

Mr. Allan was employed with the Federal Aviation Administration for more than 20 years and served in the U.S. Army from 1951-64.

He is survived by his children, Carol F. Prybylski of Clinton Township, Nancy S. Munsell of Chesterfield Township and Joyce L. (Billy) Scoggins of Ellenboro, N.C.; grandchildren, Matthew, Jesse, Rebecca, Jacob, Jarett and Joseph; many nieces and nephews; sister, Aileen (James) Beatty of Aiken, S.C.; and his brother-in-law, Ronald Pyle of Eastpointe.

He was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Shirley; siblings, Jackie and twin sisters, Mae and Annabelle.

A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Wm. Sullivan & Sons Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road (three blocks east of Van Dyke), Utica. Burial with military honors will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Christian Memorial Cultural Center, Rochester Hills.

Visitation is 5-7 p.m. today.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Humane Society.
