From "The Minteers As I Have Known Them" by Josephine Minteer Dickinson (1961 limited-edition private printing of 200 copies), youngest and last surviving of William Minteer and Mary Nicholson's 85 grandchildren:

"She was a skilled lamp-shade maker, having learned the art from her sister-in-law, Grace. She was employed at McCreery's and at Koufmanns. Later went into business for herself and died unmarried."
----------------------
In 1900 she and her parents and five siblings--all except Carrie--lived on a farm in West Franklin Township, Armstrong County, PA. Her father worked as a driller for oil and gas.

In 1910 she and her parents and six of her siblings--all except Mary--lived in a house they were renting at 5410 Black Street in Pittsburgh, PA. Blanche's husband and their daughter also lived there. Her father worked as an oil driller, Carrie worked outside the home, she worked as a saleslady in a department store, Clarence as a real estate clerk, and Mort Kidney as a builder with an elevator company.

In 1920 she and her parents and four of her siblings lived in a house they were renting at 1235 Jancey Street in Pittsburgh. Her father worked as an oil driller, she as a saleslady in a department store, Clarence as a salesman in a department store, Homer as a clerk at a steel company, Paul as a clerk at a sheet tin company, and Mary as a milliner for a hat company.

In 1930 she and her mother and two brothers lived in a place they were renting for $65 a month at 1662 Hillsdale Avenue in Dormont, PA. She worked as a needle art teacher at a department store, Homer as a clerk for a steel company, and Paul as a manager at a grocery store.

In 1940 she lived in a house she was renting for $65 a month at 327 Stratford Avenue in Pittsburgh. She kept a lodging house there, and had six lodgers, ages 40-70: one single man, three single women, and a married couple.

In 1950 she was one of six lodgers in the home of Albert C Bell and his wife at 431 Shady Avenue in Pittsburgh. She worked as a lamp shade maker there at home.
