Funeral services were held for Oscar Dillard Ellis, 74, Tuesday, Sept 11 at Baxter Baptist Mission with Rev Oscar Nash officiating. Burial was in the Peeled Chestnut cemetery in White County.
Mr. Ellis died at the Cookeville Convalescent Home Sunday, Sept 9, following a long illness. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Belle Wood Ellis, Baxter; one son, Richard Ellis, New Castle, Ind.; three daughters, Mrs. Sam Lafever, Losantville, In; Mrs. Virgil Hillard, Richmond, In; Mrs. Frank Morgan, Dayton, O; one brother, Clarence Ellis, Cleveland, TN; one sister, Mrs. Ann Gentry, Baxter.
