Mr. Milton F. Baecker, 96, of the Good Samaritan Home, formerly of 2908 Harrison, died at 1:05 p.m. Friday (January 10, 2003) in Good Samaritan Home.

Born March 24, 1906 in Quincy, Mr. Baecker was the son of John Henry and Ida Powell Baecker. He married Marguerite Baum on October 1, 1928 in Quincy. She died on August 15, 1971. He married Martha Elizabeth Dotson Hoener on February 2, 1974 in Quincy. She died October 19, 1986.

Mr. Baecker was a member of Luther Memorial Church, Lambert Lodge No. 659 where he served as Master in 1949 and Quincy Consistory.

A 1924 graduate of Quincy High School, Mr. Baecker was employed as a draftsman for Van Doorn Company and then as a mechanical engineer for Gardner Denver Company for many years. He retired in 1966.

Surviving is a sister, Florence Edwards of Franklin, IN.; a step son, James Hoener of Jacksonville, FL.; a step daughter, Shirley Ann Lindsay of Winston Salem, NC; and step grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Mr. Baecker was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Vera Baecker and Iona Kappner.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 in Greenmount Cemetery by the Rev. Jan Bengsten.

Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 - 1:45 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
