Michael L. 'Mike' Hofmann age 66 passed away Sunday evening, May 6, 2012, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Trafalgar.

Mike was born March 23, 1946, in Huntington, to the late James R. & Ester Mae Rittgers Hofmann.

He was a 1964 graduate of West Rock Creek High School in Huntington and went on to earn a degree in Civil Engineering from Indiana Tech. Mike retired in 2008 as a Traffic Engineer with the Indiana State Highway Department, Seymour District, after 38 years of service.

He enjoyed traveling, mowing his yard, working puzzles, and doing genealogy. Mike was a fan of Indiana University Men's Basketball and enjoyed traveling to many NASCAR tracks to watch his favorite driver, the late Dale Earnhart Sr.

He was a member of the Trafalgar United Methodist Church where he served as a Trustee. Mike was devoted to his church and was very hands-on with the construction and the success of the new Trafalgar United Methodist Church building.

His wife survives. Mike was a devoted father. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Lora R. Haskell on September 8, 2007, and a sister: Donna Hofmann.
