Short story: The delivery of the twins: The family doctor, Dr. Turton was out of town. They were delivered at home by Wilton McKitrick, he was a veterinarian. He arrived 1/2 hour before the twins were born. Aunt Mary Flemming worked for him.

Donald Hard, age 76, of Upper Arlington, died Tuesday, August 28, 2001 at Wintersong Village Nursing Facility in Delaware, Oh. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joan R. Hard; sons, Dean (Barbara) and Jerry (Bonnie) Hard; brothers, Wallace, Aaron and Ronald Hard; grandchildren, Brian Hard and Connie (Warren) Swanger; great-grandchildren, Michelle, Rebecca, Katelyn, and Susan Swanger. He was born on July 29, 1925 in Linworth, OH., to the late Aaron and Sara Hard. Donald is also preceded in death by his brother Herschel Hard, sisters Ida Martin, Sara Lee Chappin and Betsy Fay Walsh. He served in the South Pacific with the U.S. Navy during WW II. Donald was a salesman with The Tracy-Wells Company before retiring after many years of service. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2001 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., where friends may call one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m. Interment Kingwood Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, Oh. 45250-0301 in his memory.
