Centerport, Oct 11 – The funeral of John Baeighkley, which was held from the residence of his son-in-law, Adam Beck, 544 Perry Street, Reading, was one of the largest held at St. Michael's church for some time. The body reposed in a solid oak casket with a drop side and fancy draped hinged lid, trimmed with antique silver extension handles and a plate on the lid inscribed "Father." The remains were attired in a gray suit and were covered with an elder down blanket with lace trimmings. After short services at the house by Rev H.A. Frantz and Rev Jesse M Mengel, the cortege left for St. Michael's Church where further exercises were held. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery. The bearers were selected from people in Tilden Township. The tributes were: wreath, children; spray, Carl Mengel; spray, son Herbert and family; spray, Myrtle Zulake; spray, daughter Bessie and family; spray Mr and Mrs Elmer Coller; spray son Raymond and wife; spray, Mr and Mrs Koch and family; wreath, daughter Mollie and family; and spray, cousin Rodger. Funeral Director J.D. Naftzinger, of town, had charge.
