Norman P. Bond, 85, of Kutztown, formerly of Kempton, PA, died on Sunday, March 27, 2011 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, PA.

He was the loving husband of Betty O. (Kunkel) Bond and they celebrated 64 years of marriage in Feb. of this year. He was born in Lynn Twsp., a son of the late: Paul and Libbie G. (Hamm) Bond.

He was employed as a Custodian in the Albany Township Elementary School for 10 years retiring in 1997. Prior to that he was employed for 25 years as the head butcher for Peter Brothers Butcher Shop of Lenhartsville, PA. Before that he was a self employed farmer in Greenwich Twsp.

He was a member of New Bethel Lutheran Church Kempton, PA, where he served as a former Treasurer, Elder and Deacon. He was a member of the Kutztown Rod and Gun Club and a life member of the Kempton Fire Co.

Survivors: Besides his wife; includes a son, Dale A. Bond and his wife Cheryl of Hamburg; three daughters, Ann L. wife of Milan Bliss and Sharon K. Kistler both of Breinigsville, PA, and Cynthia D. Wife of Daniel Wessner of Kutztown, PA; a sister, Erma Merkel of Lenhartsville, PA; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Stanley Bond and three sisters Marion Lesher, Evelyn Kunkel and Roma Bauscher. Services: A private Memorial Service and Interment will be held at the convenience of the family with Rev. David W. Blitch officiating.

Contributions: In Lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to the New Bethel Luth. Church Memorial Fund - 135 New Bethel Church Rd., Kempton, PA, 19529. Arrangements by the Nester Funeral Home, New Tripoli, PA.
