Birmingham News (AL) - May 30, 2001

CARLISLE, WILLIAM ALLEN, JR., "LITTLE BILL", age 61, of Birmingham, went to be with Jesus on Friday, May 25, 2001. He was the son of William Sr. and Edith Carlisle. He attended Gate City Elementary and Woodlawn High. Mr. Carlisle was preceded in death by his father, William Carlisle, Sr. and his brother, Ralph Porter Carlisle, Sr.

Survivors include sons, William Allen Carlisle III (Christy), Charles Porter Carlisle, and John Thomas Carlisle (Liz); mother, Edith Louise Gothard Carlisle; brothers, Paul Eugene Carlisle, Sr., and James Robert Carlisle, Sr. (Linda); sister, Candy Setzer (Bill); numerous grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the Birmingham Area Hospice nurses who took such good care of Mr. Carlisle and also a special thank you to Sara Livingston for the hours she spent in making his last days better.

The visitation will be held on Monday, May 28, 2001 from 5 to 8 P.M. and the funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. The burial will be at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Rev. R. Gene Hodo will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Birmingham Area Hospice, 1414 6th Ave. S., Birmingham, AL. 35233 or to The Jimmie Hale Mission, P.O. Box 10472, Birmingham, AL. 35282.
