Samuel & Louisa (Cartmell) Hiroms Pension #33796 Service; Company D., 16th Texas Infantry; enlisted 10 April 1862; Co. K, 7th Texas Brigade, commanded by John B. Hood, Served from 1861- 1865. Comments; School teacher. Mortuary Warrant, died from diseases of the heart. Son, Hugh Hiroms. Dropped from roll as a deserted in 1863, but restored to duty by order of Major General Taylor, absent without leave.
