Mr. Anderson was born Oct. 10, 1892 in Logan, a son of Christian and Marian Amanda Wilkinson Anderson. On Jan. 1, 1912 he was married to Diantha Jane Robbins in Malad, Idaho. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. She died March 6, 1958.
He had been an engineer for the Southern Pacific Co. retiring in October of 1958 after 41 years of service. He had lived in Snowville, Brigham City, Calgary, Canada, and came to the Ogden area in 1918. He graduated from Box Elder High School. He was a high priest in the LDS Church and was a member of the Roy 7th Ward and Roy Stake High Priest Quorum. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.
Surviving are two sons and five daughters, Roscoe O'Dell Anderson, San Rafael, Calif.; John R. Anderson, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Vernon Y. (Donna) Taylor, Bakersfield, Calif.; Mrs. Duane A. (Anna Mae)Nay, Mrs. Gilbert N. (Betty Jean) Rhees, both of Roy; Mrs. Ralph J. (Shirley) Swenson, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. Donald E. (Sharon) Belnap, Ogden; 18 grandchildren and nine-great grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Ralph (Nona) Clark, Ogden; Mrs. Fred (Beth) Gilmore, El Paso, Tex.; Mrs. Sam (Emma) Fisher, Santa Barbara, Calif.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Lindquist and Sons Colonial Chapel with Bishop John N. Thomas officiating. Friends may call at the mortuary Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday prior to services. Interment will be in the Washington Heights Memorial Park.
