Mr. Josiah Balliet died at his home in Oxford, Nebraska, Wednesday, July 17, 1907, after an illness of ten weeks of paralysis. His remains were brought here Thursday afternoon and taken to the home of his brother, A. C. Balliet, and a funeral services will be held at the Methodist church this morning,(Friday,) at 10 o'clock by Rev. Robert White, after which the remains will be laid to rest in the I. O. O. F. Cemetery. Mr. Balliet was a prominent citizen of our town for many years, and moved with his family to Nebraska 15 months ago. His many friends will be shocked and pained to hear of his death. His remains were accompanied here by his wife, and daughters, Mrs. J. T. Engle, Mrs. Daisy Collett, and Miss Vesta and his sons, Atlee, and Frank and wife all of Oxford.
