Effie passed away May 25, 2012 at Chisolm Trail Nursing Home in Lockhart, Texas at the age of 101 after several years of ill health.

Effie was born in Dale, Texas on November 24, 1910 to Reg and Rosette Alexander. She was married to Julius Prestridge and they spent many years in south Texas with Sun Oil Company. She enjoyed a full life of camping, traveling and entertaining her many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two daughters, Jean Ann Pressley, and Peggy Dawsey. She is survived by three grandchildren, Donna Hood, Russell Loveless and Greg Dawsey, also by two great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to thank all of those who helped care for her, especially the staff at Chisolm Trail and the wonderful workers at CTMC Hospice.

Funeral services were held on May 29, 2012 at McCurdy Funeral Home in Lockhart with interment at Cenizo Hill Cemetery, Mathis, Texas.
