Donald Steven Brown, 19, of Succasunna was killed in action on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006, in Hadithah, Iraq. Born in Syracuse, N.Y., Mr. Brown lived in there and in Sterling Heights, Mich., before moving to Succasunna in 2000.

He served in the Iraq War as a member of the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Brown played football and ran track at Roxbury High School. He also loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church, Succasunna.

Surviving were his parents, Philip and Annette (Watson) Brown of Succasunna; a sister, Michele Riera and her husband, Nicolas of Auburn Hills, Mich.; brothers, Joshua Brown and his wife, Nancy, of Belmont, N.Y., and Kenneth Brown of Clearwater, Fla.; his fiance, Megan Robinson of Flanders; nieces and nephews, Alexus and Dominik Riera and Coltin Brown; grandparents, Donald and Joann Brown of Belmont, N.Y., his grandfather, Lawrence Watson of Belmont, N.Y., and great-grandmother, Inez Marsh of Wellsville, N.Y.

He was predeceased by his uncle, Steven Brown, in 1998 and his grandmother, Joyce Watson, in 1982.
Donald belonged to the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, 3rd Marine Expeditionary Force. Hometown of Succasunna, New Jersey Died of wounds received while conducting combat operations in Anbar province, Iraq, on October 25, 2006
