WILEY SMITH MEEKS, 98, of Mayville, GA, died Monday at the residence of his son in Banks County.
Mr. Meeks was a son of the late Rev. Nacy Meeks and a grandson of the late Rev. Littleton Meeks. A retired farmer, he was born and lived in Banks County all his life, and had been a member of the Baptist church for 80 years.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 P.M. at MT. Carmel Baptist Church in Banks County with Rev. S. A. Pless officiating. Interment was in the churchyard cemetery.
Surviving Mr. Meeks are two sons, C. C. Meeks of Oakwood, M. C. Meeks of Maysville; 2 daughters, Mrs. H. C. Crenshaw of Columbus and Mrs. Oscar Chapman of Gainesville; 20 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 1 great, great grandchild.
