WILLIAMSTON – Ruth Clark Hammond, 81, widow of Charles Larry Hammond, died Friday, May 25, 2012 at Rainey Hospice House. Born in Williamston, she was a daughter of the late Calvin Benjamin and Annie Maude Vanadore Clark.

She was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills and a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was active in the XYZ Club. She was also a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.

Surviving are daughter, Nancy Lynn (Michael) Henderson of Williamston; son, Terry Alan (Cheryl) Hammond of Piedmont; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by six sisters, six brothers, and one grandson. Visitation will be held 2-3 pm Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

Funeral services will follow at 3 pm Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be on Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson. Memorials may be made to Anderson County Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 285, Anderson, SC 29622.
