Ed A. Tobler, Rancher of Keeline, Laid at Rest in Lusk Cemetery; Is Accorded Military Services Tuesday
Military rites were accorded Ed Adolph Tobler at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday morning by members of Wieten-Dupes Post No 4, American Legion, who conducted graveside rites, and by members of the Lusk Unit of the National Guard who furnished the firing salute.
Funeral services were held at two o'clock Saturday afternoon, April 28th, from the chapel of the Peet Funeral Home for the deceased with Rev. Jacob Nein, pastor of the First Congregational Church of Lusk, officiating. Burial was delayed until a son, Kenneth P. Tobler, who is serving with the U. S. Air Force, was able to arrive home from Japan.
During the services, a mixed trio composed of Mrs. Ab DeCastro, Mrs. Emerson Bonner and Donley Unruh, sang "In the Garden," and "Going Down the Valley," with Mrs. J. P. Watson presiding at the organ.
Interment was made in the Lusk cemetery with the remains being borne to their final resting place by Charles Freeman, Lloyd Coleman, James Ringer, Jr., Floyd Bartos, Lee Thomas, Emery Gaukel, Beryl Fullerton and Lavonne Pfeifer.
Honorary bearers were Joe Kuhn, D. A. Shoopman, James Ringer, Sr., James D. Hoblit, Leo C. Heins, Bob Groves and Eddie Parmely.
Adolph J. Tobler, son of John and Ana Tobler was born October 12, 1888 in Guide Rock, Nebr., and departed this life, Wednesday, April 25th, 1956 at his home in Keeline. He had attained the age of 67 years, seven months and 13 days.
He married Clara L. Snider in February, 1909. Five children were born to this union. He was married again to Nellie Humberson in Casper, Wyo., in 1922. Two children were born to this union. On January 11, 1956, he married Luluabelle Capallen in Phoenix Arizona.
Some years of his life were spent in and around Guide Rock, Nebr. Most of his years however, he spent in Wyoming with some time at Casper, and the majority of the time at Keeline, where he was engaged in farming. He was a veteran of World War I.
Besides his wife, he leaves to mourn his passing, three sons: Sidney Lawrence Tobler, Red Cloud, Nebr.; Kenneth Patrick Tobler in the Air Force now serving in Japan; Victor Adolph Tobler, Harvard, Nebr.; three daughters, Mrs. Velvia L. Keller, Mrs. Millie M. Giffert, both of Kearney, Nebr., Mrs. Peggy Ann Buschmihle, Forsythe, Mont.; two stepchildren, William Hust of Riverside, Calif., Mrs. Alex Graff of Greeley, Nebr.; twelve grandchildren, four great grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Paul Alber, Pauline, Nebr., Mrs. Fred Durnal, Bayard, Nebr., Mrs. Minnie Smith of Fort Collins, Colo., as well as a host of friends and acquaintances. One son, Edgar, and his mother preceded him in death.
