Here At Lutheran Church
On Monday Afternoon

Mrs. Hattie Kruger, 74, a resident of this community since 1918, passed away on Saturday morning at the Sibley hospital where she had been take for emergency treatment. Mrs. Kruger had been in poor health for some time and her death brought an end to her long suffering. Funeral services were held from the Kruger home and from the Lutheran church here on Monday afternoon. Interment was made in the cemetery at Ackley, Ia., on Tuesday.

Mrs. Hattie Kruger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reinhardt Arends, was born August 30, 1878 at Ackley, Iowa. She was baptized into the Christian faith and brought up in a Christian home. She married John A. Kruger and lived in this community since 1918. While she lived at Ackley she was chief telephone operator for about fourteen years. She passed away December 28, 1952 at 5:20 a.m. at the Sibley hospital where she had been taken for emergency treatment.

Her husband preceded her in death on June 29, 1934. She leaves to mourn her passing a step-son-in-law, K. F. Klaahsen, who lived with her, and three sisters: Mrs. Pearl Nolting, Dumont, Ia.; Mrs. Ella Goerner, West Burlington, Ia., and Mrs. Henrietta Bechtold, Syracuse, Nebr. A brother, Sherman Maier, Dumont, Ia. and the following step-sons, Ailt Kruger, Sibley, Ia., Peter Kruger, and George Kruger, George, Ia., and Jacob Kruger, Sibley, Ia., and two step-daughters, Mrs. Helen DeBoer, George, Ia. and Miss Jennie Kruger, Minneapolis, Minn., and a host of relatives and friends.

A brother, B. R. Arends, a minister, preceded her in death.
