Mason City Globe-Gazette, Mason City, Iowa, Thursday, 07 July 1927 Funeral services for Frank Tompkins, 51, were held at the Patterson Funeral home at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, Dr. J. Franklin Boeye, pastor of the First Methodist church, being in charge. Mr. Tompkins died at his home, 1615 North Jefferson avenue, Sunday morning at 12:30 o'clock, after an illness that had continued since August. He was born Oct. 9, 1876, at Maynard, where he attended school. He was married to Miss Eunice U. Driscoll Hemmingford, Nebraska, Oct. 9, 1898. They lived at Council Bluffs and Omaha for a time, while Mr. Tompkins was engaged as a fireman the C.B. & Q. railroad. Because of the condition of his health, Mr. Tompkins was forced to give up railroading 16 years ago, when he came to Mason City. Later he was employed at the plant of J.E. Decker and Sons company, where he remained for 14 years. He leaves a wife and three children, Fred, Cecil and Carmen, the latter being an adopted child.
