Professional Hockey Player. A native of Sudbury, Ontario, Horne played the position of Right Wing for teams in the NOJHA, Can-Pro, NOHA, and the NHL hockey leagues. At 5'06", and 165lbs, Horne played for the Sudbury Cub Wolves from 1920 to 1922, Sudbury Wolves from 1921 to 1922, North Bay Trappers from 1922 to 1924, Grimsby Peach Kings from 1924 to 1925, Montreal Maroons from 1925 to 1927, Stratford Nationals from 1926 to 1928, London Panthers from 1926 to 1927, and the Toronto Maple Leafs from 1928 to 1929. On July 31, 1929, while on a prospecting trip on tLake Sagatosky, in Gogama, Ontario, Horne drowned. He was just 25 year old. Horne's body was not recovered from the lake for a full four days, but when it was found, he was given a funeral in his native Sudbury with the likes of 'Hap' Day and 'Ace' Bailey attending the services.
