FORMER BURLINGTON RESIDENT DIES AT DAUGHTER'S HOME
Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie E. (Slaybaugh) Allen, widow of the late William Allen, both of Burlington, Indiana, were held last Sunday at the Sharon Baptist Church near Burlington. Mrs. Allen died last Thursday on her 82nd birthday following an extended illness at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Roy Cowell of Kokomo, Indiana.
Besides Mrs. Cowell; two other daughters survive: Mrs. Omer Wysong of Burlington and Mrs. Emerson Shirar of Clinton County; three sons: Dr. Hubert Allen of Richmond; Rose Allen of Flora and Fred Allen of Bringhurst; a sister, Mrs. Grace Cox of Rossville also survives.

She was born on March 23, 1862 and passed away on March 23, 1944.She married William H. Allen on October 1, 1904 in Carroll County, Indiana.
