ANDREW A. ABATE, 88 - of North Cape May, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 8, 2010 at the North Cape Center. Born in Brooklyn and formerly on Long Island, he has been a Cape May area resident since 1986. Andrew was a grocery store manager at Dan's Supreme in Massapequa, NY. He served his country in the US Navy during World War II.
Andrew is survived by: his son Andrew (Linda) G. Abate and granddaughter Alison Abate of NY; his daughter Lucille (Jeff) Blom of FL; and his daughter Andrea of CA. He was preceded in death by his wife Lucy Abate in 2006.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at St. John of God RC Church, Townbank Rd., North Cape May; where friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow the service at Cape May County Veterans Cemetery.
