Harry Skinner was the first-born of William C. (Willie) and Marion Maude "Mug" (Keene) Skinner.

On 22 Jun 1921, he married Ethel May Rapson in Stalwart, Chippewa, Michigan, USA. She was the daughter of Robert James Rapson Sr (1865–1940) and Margaret Alice "Maggie" Little (1874–1940).

Harry & Ethel had three children:
1 - Veda Margaret Skinner (b. 1922) m. 1st Lawrence Ordiway, 2 ch.; m. 2nd Harvey Sodergren, 1 ch.
2 - William (Bill) Boyd Skinner (b. 1924) m. Dorothy Izzard (3 ch.)
3 - Verne Robert Skinner (b. 1926) m. Janet Joan Zwolinski (8 ch.)

1910 US Census: Pickford, Chippewa, Michigan, with parents, age 10, and siblings Amber (8), Clark (3)

1920 US Census: Pickford, Chippewa, Michigan, (age 20), with widowed mother, Marion (39) and siblings Amber (18), Clark (13), and three Clegg children. Sister Gypsie (6) living with Crawford family nearby.

Sadly, Harry died young at the age of 28, of a ruptured appendix. His wife Ethel went on to marry again, in 1931 to William Nelson Sims Sr. (1888–1967), and they had one son, Nelson Jr., who tragically d. young, age 9 of complications of infantile paralysis developed at age 5.
