BROOKS, Joseph W., 79, died Thursday, October 29, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Edna Brooks; sons, Thomas Brooks and Joseph Brooks; granddaughter, Latrisha Brooks; grandsons, Curtis Brooks and Justin (Shayla) Brooks; great-granddaughters, Brianna Wymble and Belle Brooks; great-grandsons, Logan Brooks and Jacob Brooks; brother, James Brooks; sister, Audrey May Peavy and a host of nieces and nephews. He worked for Maxwell Civil Service for 26 years, Standard Roofing for 15 years and ran J.W. Brooks Roofing for 30 years.
Funeral services are scheduled November 1, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Leak Memory Chapel with Rev Stan Holt officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 31, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Mitch Mozingo, Curtis Brooks, Rick Tillery, Justin Brooks, DeWayne Peavy and Bobby Mozingo.
