NEWPORT NEWS - Emma Cobb Bynum, 92, died Wednesday, Jan. 18, in her home.

She was a native of Pinetops, N.C., a resident of Charlotte, N.C. for over 60 years, and Peninsula resident for six years.

She was a member of Holy Comforter Episcopal Church, Charlotte, N.C., where she was chairman of the Altar Guild for over 50 years.

Survivors include one daughter, Lenora B. Wells of Newport News; one sister, Zelota Spivey of Maury, N.C.; and two grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Stephens Episcopal Church, Newport News, by the Rev. Ted Gulick. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in Hollywood Cemetery, Farmville, N.C.
