Earl Dale, 82, of Batesville died Monday, April 15, 2002, at his home.

Born April 21, 1919, at Williamson Switch in Izard County, he was the son of Gerome and Mary Campbell Dale. He was retired from the Missouri Pacific Railroad and was a member of the Rehobeth Baptist Church at Moorefield.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ruby Moody Dale; four daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Johnny Rounds Sr. of Charlotte, Louise and Danny Caniff of Sulphur Rock, Patricia and David Daughtry of Pleasant Plains and Earline and James Griffin Jr. of Cave City; two sisters, Lily Dodd and Inez Pearson, both of Batesville; his mother-in-law, Mag Moody; three grandsons and two granddaughters-in-law, Rondel Fulbright, Johnny and Trisha Rounds Jr. and Scott and Kim Daughtry; five granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Schellie and Danny Barber, Melynda and Randy Paul, Kellie and Patrick Kircher, Kerri and Shawn Caldwell and Brittenie and Tommy Crouch; 12 great-grandchildren, Darah Rounds, Trey Rounds, Ryan Paul, Justin Paul, Jordan Barber, Kayla Barber, Samantha Fulbright, Jacob Daughtry, Kaitlyn Daughtry, Landon Daughtry, Blake Caldwell and Morgan Crouch; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandchild, Randall Daughtry; six brothers; and three sisters.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Rehobeth Baptist Church with Charles Crowson officiating. Burial will be at Lee's Chapel Cemetery on White Drive with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.

Pallbearers will be Rondel Fulbright, Scott Daughtry, Shawn Caldwell, Johnny Rounds Jr., Randy Paul and Tommy Crouch.

Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Barber, Dr. Jim Lytle, Patrick Kircher and Dr. R.M. Bates.
