He was born February 12, 1915, in Chisholm to Samuel A. and Bessie (Bennett) Roberts. He was a 1934 graduate of Chisholm High School and had been a lifelong Chisholm-Hibbing area resident.
He was united in marriage on August 14, 1936, in Chisholm to Julia V. Kautto. He retired in 1977 as a plant foreman from U.S. Steel's former Sherman Plant after 42 years of service. He was a member of Chisholm United Methodist Church; Hematite Lodge 274 A.F. & A.M., Chisholm; Taconite Chapter #217 O.E.S., Chisholm; the Scottish Rite Bodies of Duluth. Lincoln enjoyed all types of sporting events.
Survivors include his wife of almost 70 years, Julia; son, Bennett (Vera) Roberts; grandchildren: John (Cherie) Roberts; Kristin (Drew) Shields; great grandson, Corey Roberts; numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Frank and Bill Roberts, sisters: Rose Woodward and Ruby Dilla.
